8mm and
Super-8 Film Transfers to DVD
You can now enjoy your old film movie
memories again without the need of a projector. We will
convert your films to DVD using our high quality
telecine process.
The process:
All films are first cleaned
with anti-static film cleaner to reduce dust and grime.
They are examined for damage and repaired where
possible.

Super8 and regular8 reels are scanned
directly off the film in high-resolution with a 3-CCD
camera to our
workstation. There are no mirrors, lenses, or screens to
degrade the image. Transferring one frame of film at a time
ensures a clear and crisp picture with no flicker.
Software assembles the frames together and prepare the
digital video for encoding to DVD.
Our specialized movie film machine has an enlarged gate so
nearly all of the frame of film is captured. Regular
projectors crop much of the original picture. Our
process ensures that more of the picture is visible on
the screen.
Your film are handled with care every
step of the process. The transfer system uses a cool LED
light source to avoid burning the films. The
sprocketless drive ensures no damage to your precious
footage.
After your film is digitized it is
encoded, DVD authored, and burned onto high quality
DVD-R media. We design and print colourful covers and
disk graphics. There is no extra charge for cover
graphics, titles, or DVD menus authoring.
Your films will be organized onto
separate tracks in the DVD menu.

Download a short sample clip (Quicktime File 6MB)
These sample clips are from an 8mm
movie filmed in the 1950s. They are encode in lower than
DVD resolution to reduce download size. Your movies will
be encoded in full 720x480 DVD resolution.
If you plan to edit your 8mm movies or
would like to keep the digital master we can also
provide you with a miniDV tape master of the source DV
files. We may also be able to put your DV film files on
DVD data disks or an external hard drive.
Sound? Most 8mm and Super-8 films were
silent. If your film has a sound track please ask for a
price quote to transfer. You may have music added to
your DVD. You must provide us with a music CD or MP3s
on disk.

Ask about having your films on Blu-ray disks
instead of DVD. Blu-ray disks and hold over 5X more DVD
quality video (720x480). We can also archive your DV
data files on Blu-ray media.
Price: There is a minimum charge of
$29 per order.
